Drawing Constructions
Because of the assembled and installation nature of this work I call these drawing constructions. I am continuing to work in a modular style that I have been using for a number of years. I use multiple pieces of drawing paper of various sizes that overlap, join edge to edge or are cut to reveal a negative shape or alter the shape of the drawing surface itself. The scale of the piece can grow or contract during the process and forms a unique composition with each installation.
I’m using human and animal anatomy imagery to explore themes of fragility, the concealing, excavating and the exposing of layers, humans influence on the ecosystem and coexisting with wildlife.
